Anait Semirdzhyan

Hi!

Hi! My name is Anait. I'm an illustrator living in Seattle.

Art has always been a big part of my life. I spent hours copying Disney characters as a kid. Much later my passion for creating characters and capturing their emotions led me to children's book illustration. I joined the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), and now most of my time is dedicated to drawing for kids.

The first book illustrated by me, a wonderful story about determined dreamers "Ernie Gonzales. Escape from Paradise" by Beth Shepherd was published in May 2016 by Instant Apostle. My second book, "Stella and the Bubble Man" by Colleen Clancy Hansen, came out in April 2017 from Sweetgrassbooks.

Although my favorite tools are traditional Pen & Ink and watercolor, I also work digitally and am always eager to try new media and learn new techniques. My artistic style is a consequence of diverse cultures and different countries I had lived in.

My goal is to give my illustrations feelings and emotions, rather than perfect lines, and let you experience it!
